I leave some of my Anaheim Peppers on the plant to ripen. These lovely red peppers are then strung on quilting thread or embroidery floss and hung to dry. Like my drying rake/rack?
Once completely dry I will remove the stem and seeds and give them a few turns in the blender, then store in a jar. This will make my pepper flakes to use through out the year. To string them, I use a regular needle, piercing them through the stem.
If I have a short strand, I leave the needle on the string awaiting more peppers to come later. I'm thinking of trying to dry some green ones. Have you tried that before? How did it turn out?
I link at these parties.
